Breakfast and Lunch

Great Oaks Academy is committed to providing nutritious food daily. Every student can participate in one free breakfast and one free lunch every school day. Great Oaks Academy will continue to participate in Minnesota’s Free School Meals Program for the 2024-2025 school year. The program provides reimbursement to schools that participate in the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program. This will allow students one breakfast and one lunch at no cost to parents during in person school days.
This year we are continuing our partnership with CKC Good Foods. They provide nutritious meals that meet USDA guidelines and are approved by the Minnesota Department of Education and have been appealing to our students.

Families do not need to pre-order breakfast. In the event the bus is late or the menu item runs out, students will be provided a staple breakfast that meets the Minnesota Department of Education standards and will be nourishing to students. School lunches will NEED to be pre-ordered and submitted on a 2 week basis through our ordering system, hotlunch. Parents will receive notification when the ordering window is opening and when it will close.

To access hotlunch, please log in by clicking here and sign up for an account so you can order lunch for your children throughout the upcoming school year. After you activate your account, you will need a campus code to add your children. Your campus code is: greatoaksacademy. If you don’t have access to a computer, you may come into our main office and use a computer to order meals.

Any technical assistance required with the website or app during that time will require parents to reach out to the Hotlunch Customer support team with details of their issue. Orders can be deleted or changed during the open window period. Once the window closes we are not able to make adjustments by adding or removing orders. Once the window closes the orders are sent to CKC and we are financially responsible for them at that time. Any meals on the menu that your student doesn’t like or you prefer they not have, please send a home lunch for that day.

An allergen/gluten free hotlunch menu is available. In order to place an order from this menu, we will need to have a special diet form signed by the doctor and in the nurse’s office. This list of students will be the only ones eligible to order from the allergen/gluten free menu and this is the only menu they will be able to order from. If you have questions regarding our lunch program, please contact Ms. Barry at tbarry@greatoaksacademymn.com.

Inclement Weather Lunch Procedure

Great Oaks Academy will be using the CKC Shift day Procedure in the event of bad weather and/or an unexpected no-school day.
Below is an example of how the procedure will take place:

  • If school is closed on a Monday due to weather: Monday’s menu will shift to Tuesday and Tuesday’s meal will shift to Wednesday. Students will receive lunch based on their ordering day, not the meal.
  • So if you ordered the hamburger on Monday but not the pasta on Tuesday, you will need to send your child with a home lunch. If your child does not like the hamburger lunch, feel free to supplement your child’s lunch with items they can add to the lunch that will be provided.
  • Wednesday’s menu will be canceled for the week in the above mentioned scenario.

NOTE: If Monday’s meal option is shifted to Tuesday, the meal count will not be able to be changed. This means that the meal being served on Tuesday will reflect the number ordered for Monday. Substitutions may occur due to the shift

Breakfast: $0.00

Lunch: $0.00
